The BMI calculator is a useful tool that measures whether you are overweight, underweight, or just right. Your weight alone is not enough to tell, as a tall, skinny man is likely to weigh more an overweight woman who is short and slim. The body mass index, or BMI is a solution to this problem by determining a proportion from your weight height which gives you an exact number. This number will fit into a specific category in the scale of BMI ranges that can be described as underweight normal, overweight, and obese.
To calculate how much body weight you weigh on your own, and what the number is for you, you'll need to be aware of:

How do I calculate BMI
Let's begin by examining the calculation:
- You can divide the weight (in kgs) with your measurement (in feet).
- Divide the answer by your height and again to determine your BMI.
So the body mass index formula is as the following:
BMI = weight / height2.
Normal BMI
Our BMI calculator makes it a piece of cake for you to find your exact BMI. Be aware that BMI is a rough estimation. The result can be somewhat confusing for people who are muscly (such as body builders), or for those who have lost significant amounts of muscle (such those who are elderly).

BMI ranges
There are five primary variations within the BMI scale:
- The term "underweight" means less than 18.5
- Normal weight equals 18.5 - 24.9
- Overweight = 25 - 29.9
- Obesity = 30 - 35
- Severe Obesity = 35 and more
It's called the BMI Prime BMI Prime is clever adaptation to our BMI calculator. It's a decimal value where 1.0 is the upper end of what is known as the "normal BMI" range. It's an extremely simple method to know if you're overweight or not. If you're BMI Prime is greater than 1, then you've got a bit of weight to lose.
Utilizing our calculator to calculate the Body Mass Index
In the upper right-hand corner of the BMI calculator, there are fields for users to input their body weight and height. Enter these numbers and you'll have your BMI in addition to your BMI Prime (see above) and a short message that will tell you which is the range that you fall into.
If you're overweight and want to know what amount you'll have to shed to be in your healthyrange then you can also do it. Place your height and weight in the boxes as they are, then type "0.9" into the BMI Prime box. The weight you put in and BMI will be adjusted automatically.
Tip: If the height of your box changes when you switch boxes, you'll have to make sure you lock it. Go to the right side of the box. Click the lock icon. This will secure the figure while you alter the values in other boxes. This is... the case unless you're planning to grow taller!
Other aspects
